About the Library and Learning Hub
Tabor's busy Library is the front face of Tabor to the community and students. We are evolving this space to be a Library and Learning Hub that continues to provide excellent library services while expanding its emphasis on student support, wellbeing, connection and scholarly success.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who values the core strengths of library practice and is also enthusiastic about helping shape a welcoming, flexible, student-centred Learning Hub environment.
We are open to appointing a:
- a Library and Learning Hub Team Member
and salary will be commensurate with the experience, skill set and strengths of the successful applicant.
The Role
The role includes:
- providing a welcoming, responsive point of contact for students, staff, and external visitors
- supporting circulation services including issues, returns, renewals, and reservations
- assisting students to connect with study support, learning assistance, and pastoral care services
- contributing to the maintenance, organisation, and accessibility of library resources
- assisting with cataloguing and library systems processes
- supporting the Library team with projects and service improvement initiatives
- helping manage reception functions, welcome visitors, and direct enquiries and phone calls
- contributing to a Learning Hub culture that promotes student wellbeing, belonging, and academic success
We would love to hear from people who bring
Knowledge, skills, and experience
We are particularly interested in applicants with:
- knowledge of library management systems and cataloguing
- the ability to provide circulation services including issues, returns, renewals, and reservations
- demonstrated understanding of key issues and trends in academic libraries, including the role of information technology, information literacy, and communication
- the ability to catalogue using the Dewey Decimal Classification
- the capacity to contribute to a welcoming, student-focused Learning Hub environment
- a high level of professionalism, initiative, and flexibility
- the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Essential Qualifications

A diploma or degree in Library and Information Studies, or another relevant library qualification, or active enrolment in such qualifications in Business Administration

Tertiary or academic library experience is highly regarded
