Are you a highly organised, proactive and relational administration professional who thrives in a purpose-driven environment?

Tabor is a Private Higher Education Provider offering tertiary education grounded in a Christian perspective. With faculties in Ministry Practice, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Education, we equip students-future teachers, counsellors, youth workers, pastors, musicians, and creative writers-for flourishing in their personal, spiritual, and professional lives.

Tabor is one or the state's premier teaching colleges and places major emphasis on the art of meaningful teaching practice. Tabor's Education faculty is a close and supportive team of skilled and hardworking professionals who are passionate about providing outstanding teacher education, from a Christian perspective, and producing excellent teachers. The workflow is fast-paced and agile. This Administrator - Head of Program Support role serves as a key administrative support for the academic Heads of Program in Tabor's Education Faculty.

The Heads of Program oversee the academic quality and student support and wellbeing in Tabor's Bachelor of Education and Master of Teaching degrees that  prepare students for the teaching profession in all education sectors, and which also qualify existing teachers in postgraduate Master of Education studies.

Through a range of tasks and processes, and work with students and academic  staff, this role will administratively support the academic heads of those degree awards and will thereby contribute significantly to the faculty's already
recognised excellence in student learning, student support, spiritual formation, and societal contribution.
Ideally, the workflow for this position would suit a 4-day per week 9.30am-2pm timeframe but this is negotiable.

Key strengths for success in this role include:
  • A passion for student education within a Christian community

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with students and staff while maintaining professional behaviour in line with the organisation's community standing.

  • Strong competence in Office 365 including spreadsheeting

  • Demonstrated experience in a high functioning administrative role

  • A practical, solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to operate effectively  in a complex academic faculty environment

  • Excellent literacy in relation to computer, data analysis and academic skills

  • The ability to manage the big picture and details, at once

  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team

  • A highly collegiate approach to life and work, with the ability to quickly build  trust and to apply a balance of compassion and boundaries in regard to policy and process

  • High-level communication skills

  • An innovative and forward-looking approach to improve systems and processes

  • Essential character qualities of creativity, emotional and spiritual intelligence, and a sense of humour

  • Personal faith alignment with Tabor's Christian mission, ethical integrity, and  commitment to meaningful and formational education from a Christian faith perspective
